Facebook tests the waters in China with stealth app

Mark-Zuckerberg-China-March-2016-1

The app, called Colorful Balloons, is similar to Facebook's Moments application in function and feel, but does not carry the Facebook name, the Times said on Aug 11. In an attempt to re-enter the Chinese market, Facebook launched a photo-sharing app, Colourful Balloons through another firm. Through its Colorful Moments app, Facebook could learn how to be more like the WeChats and Weibos of China. The app looks and feels nearly exactly like Facebook's Moments app, but has been renamed to disguise any hint of its affiliation with the Zuckerberg-founded company.

In comments made to the New York Times, Facebook didn't officially confirm their involvement with the project, but they didn't deny it either. The app is published by a Chinese company called Youge Internet Technology and bears no apparent affiliation with the social networking company. Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg has been in talks with the Chines politicians to make Facebook active in the country but didn't succeed. The director of the company, a woman named Zhang Jingmei, appeared in a photo of a meeting between Facebook and the Shanghai government, sitting next to Facebook executive Wang-Li Moser, indicating she is likely associated with the company, the report added.

Scientists have discovered a unique stellar system
However, fortunately for any life on the planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system , the star is quieter than others of its kind. Are the orbits of this compact system of planets stable? There is also chances of their orbits being unsteady.

In a statement, Facebook officials said, "We are very much interested in China and are spending more time in understanding and learning about the country in different ways".

"Our focus right now is on helping Chinese businesses and developers expand to new markets outside China by using our ad platform". It remains to be seen whether the government will take any actions regarding the app's future.
