The Division 1.7 update adds loot boxes

The 1.7 patch for The Division patch notes and details

Tomorrow's Update 1.7 is the latest in a long line of patches to The Division, so watch the trailer, read the patch notes and decide whether it's time to jump back into The Division.

The game's first Global Event, titled Outbreak, will begin when the update launches on August 15 at 6PM and will end of August 22. Ubisoft continue to patch the game and tomorrow's Update 1.7 brings global events among other goodies. Players will be able to activate additional modifiers for some missions and incursions, adding an extra layer of challenge that gives them a chance to yield more rewards. Plus, as is usually the case with the third-person shooter's updates, new gear is on the way, including reworked versions of existing gear sets called Classified gear sets.

Furthermore, The Division's Update 1.7 is set to overhaul Feats - renaming them Commendations - as they will now be connected to an integrated achievement system giving would-be Agents new tasks and rewards.

Encrypted Caches - Caches are loot boxes with random customisation items and emotes inside. This is a new mode that will entice players whose main motivation is to uniquely modify their in-game characters. These can be opened with keys found through regular gameplay, or by purchasing them with real-world money through the in-game currency of "premium credits".

Google Camera Modified to enable 1080p 60FPS
When you take a shot with HDR+ activated, you get a notification that it is processing. These devices use Hexagon 680 ISP or above that's why they are supported.

Update 1.7 marks the first free major update of The Division Year 2. The update is expected to raise the game content-wise for players to enjoy.

If you don't own Survival, the second expansion for The Division, it will be available to play for free from August 18 at 6am PT/9am ET until August 20 at 12pm PT/3pm ET across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

If you want to see what the patch is all about, you can play Survival Mode for free this coming weekend.
