The club have been looked into twice before by the world football governing body.

Premier League champions Chelsea have become the subject of a Federation Internationale de Football Association probe, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea are facing their third Federation Internationale de Football Association investigation in eight years over their policy over signing young players.

Real Madrid were also punished a year ago, but had their ban reduced from two transfer windows to one.

Atletico Madrid are now under a transfer embargo for breaching similar rules about the signing of minors and their appeal was upheld by the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS).

A Federation Internationale de Football Association spokesman said: 'As the investigation is on-going no further comment is possible for the time being'.

His strong performances have long seen him linked with a move away from Madrid - with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger constantly a front-runner.

Real Madrid were also sanctioned, but had their ban reduced from two transfer windows to one. They were banned from signing players for two transfer windows in September 2009 due to Gael Kakuta's 2007 move from Lens, although they successfully appealed the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Federation Internationale de Football Association also looked into the transfer of Bertrand Traore to Chelsea a year ago, but the Burkina Faso worldwide was sold to Lyon.

Liverpool and Manchester City were recently handed bans after they were deemed to have tapped young players up.

The Blues have now been investigated three times in eight years over their signing of players under the age of 18, having previously been probed about their deals for Gael Kakuta and Bertrand Traore.

Responding to the reports, a Chelsea spokesman said: "Chelsea FC complies with all FIFA Statutes and Regulations when recruiting players".
