Some Threaten to Harm Protesters At Kid Rock Concert

In Kid Rock's newest and most freaky U.S. Senate campaign statement yet, he pulls a Trump by going on an online tirade against the far left, the far right, and nearly all of Detroit, before announcing his love for black people. Tonight, the Detroit native is playing a hug gig in his hometown, hosting the long-awaited grand opening of the city's Little Caesars Arena.

The civil rights group last week called for their cancellation because of Kid Rock's past display of the Confederate flag during performances and his recent criticism of black former NFL player Colin Kaepernick for refusing to stand during the national anthem previous year.

An anchor for ESPN entered the political sphere on Twitter on Monday afternoon in response to an article about musician Kid Rock's recent comments surrounding his possible Senate bid.

"We want to acknowledge Colin Kapernick and him potentially losing everything to support what we're doing", said Tyrone Allen, 69, and a lifelong Detroiter, who called the choice of Kid Rock to open the arena an affront to Detroiters. "And in the context of the current national racial strife, born of racist torch marches, of presidential equivocations, and of a prolonged debate about the presence of racist history in our midst, I think the Kid Rock extravaganza at a new Detroit arena is absolutely nuts".

The protest follows several days of social media smack talk between Kid Rock, his supporters and protesters who object to him performing in Detroit.

"This is the straw that broke the camel's back", said the Rev. Charles Williams II, president of the National Action Network Detroit chapter, last week. Yesterday, the singer released a statement that read in part: "My track record in Detroit and MI speaks for itself, and I would dare anyone talking trash to put theirs up against mine".

Kid Rock is the king of Detroit music venues.
