Police 'Confident' No One Else in Shooter's Las Vegas Room Before Attack

Mandalay Bay broken windows

On Sunday night, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more in what has become the deadliest mass shooting in recent us history.

What officers have found is that Paddock planned his attack meticulously.

It has been nearly a week since the massacre in Las Vegas, and what makes this mass shooting so different from all the rest, besides the horrific death toll and injuries amassed, is a complete lack of motive. "We owe it to the victims and the victims' families", McMahill said. "He didn't boast about anything he had or anything, it was just his demeanour" Mr Weinrich said.

While fighting the religious extremists remains a top-most priority of many countries especially the USA, the fact that it gave way to unnecessary clemency in Stephen's case only because he was a Native American, needs to be reflected up on.

Over the course of several days, police say, he brought more than 20 firearms into his hotel room.

It is unusual to have so few clues five days after a mass shooting.

Here, instead, there is mystery. While police continue to investigate his motives and discern a reason behind the attack, speculation stirred that he had booked a condo in Las Vegas a week prior for the Life Is Beautiful festival, and could have been targeting that event, as well. Investigators taking another look inside the gunman's home.

McMahill said they had reviewed surveillance camera footage from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and "not located any other person that we believe to be a suspect at this point".

TMZ also reports that Paddock "specifically requested both rooms be a "view room" which only face Grant Park" and that he hadn't previously booked a room at the hotel before. Lombardo, the sheriff, expressed skepticism that the gunman carried out his plan by himself. Campos, who was working as a security guard, was unarmed as he approached Paddock's room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay, according to The Daily Beast. When he got to the shooter's floor, Campos found the stairwells had been barricaded and had to use the elevator, Hickey said he was told by local union officials. "I wish I did".

US State Department approves THAAD sale to Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a longstanding US ally in the Middle East and its arms deals with Moscow have caused disquiet in Washington.

Lombardo said Paddock spent decades stockpiling guns and living a "secret life" that investigators may never be able to fully understand.

McMahill also acknowledged that the rumors and speculation have not been helpful to the investigation.

The dealer did not have the quantity Paddock wanted, so Paddock did not end up buying anything from him, they said.

The authorities have turned to the shooter's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, hoping to get clues about Paddock's motives and what may have sparked the deadliest mass shooting in the modern US history.

"It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone", Danley said in the statement.

In Nevada, the Clark County coroner on Thursday formally identified the 58 people killed in the massacre.

"Their names and their stories will forever be etched into the hearts of the American people", he said. Campos is still recovering from his gunshot wound in the hospital. Others were injured during the frenzied attempts to flee the carnage.

McMahill addressed some reports circulating on the investigation.

If the news about a man killing 59 people and wounding more than 500 people in Las Vegas this weekend wasn't horrific enough, we've now leaned that the Route 91 Harvest festival wasn't his only target.
