Alan Shearer holds nothing back in cutting criticism of Danny Drinkwater

Vardy believes Drinkwater deserves another shot for England

Not our words, Carol.

Drinkwater only recently made his Chelsea debut at the end of October after dealing with thigh and calf injuries.

I wanted to find out where he felt he was.

It's safe to say that Alan Shearer didn't agree with Danny Drinkwater's decision to rule himself out of England's pair of friendlies.

The Chelsea midfielder said he did not feel fully fit after struggling to recover from the calf problem that has marred the start of his time with the Premier League champions.

But Vardy, who won the Premier playing alongside Drinkwater at Leicester two years ago, claims the 27 year old is still desperate to play for England and is simply not fit.

LLC Has $10.74 Million Holdings in Amazon.com, Inc
The e-commerce giant reported $0.52 earnings per share for the quarter, missing the Zacks' consensus estimate of $1.09 by ($0.57). The stock of Cna Financial Corp (NYSE:CNA) has "Hold" rating given on Monday, September 18 by Keefe Bruyette & Woods.

However, there one lone voice who spoke out in support of Drinkwater, and that man was Jamie Vardy.

"I think he definitely wants to play for his country but, to be honest, he has been struggling to get a bit of match-time", Vardy said.

Our £35m signing may win back Southgate if he puts in some good performances for us when he gets the chance. He has been doing that in recent weeks for Chelsea and he needs to keep building that up.

"For some time the big question mark with England is whether the players really want to play for the Three Lions enough?"

England manager Gareth Southgate revealed that he had phoned the Chelsea midfielder to discuss his potential inclusion in his squad for the games against Germany and Brazil but Drinkwater turned down the opportunity due to concerns about his fitness.

Surely, he's the type of workaday player that would cherish every dalliance he is granted with the national team and not go flippantly turning them down on a whim?
