Cybersecurity Experts trick iPhone X Face ID Technology with 3D Printed Mask

Apple Face ID

Three of the videos focus on Face ID and Apple Pay, while the fourth spotlights Animoji. The researchers call the mask "the artificial twin".

Ultimately Bkav believes that Face ID is less secure compared to Touch ID, especially when you consider that the mask costs about $200 to make, although whether or not you're worth the trouble to the thief is a different story.

There was a bit of debate going on with the video, as some claimed that the "Require Attention" feature was not enabled.

The Apple iPhone X's Face ID security system has been busted open by Vietnamese security firm Bkav once again.

For those unfamiliar, the Require Attention feature is an additional layer of security where it requires users to have their eyes pointed at the phone in order for it to unlock.

Cubist Systematic Strategies LLC Grows Stake in United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS)
United Parcel Service makes up 0.9% of Mariner Wealth Advisors LLC's portfolio, making the stock its 23rd biggest holding. Peapack Gladstone Financial Corp increased its stake in shares of United Parcel Service by 0.3% during the 2nd quarter.

This mask appears to be unlocking the iPhone right away. "And we take an infrared image of your face", a Bkav spokesperson told Forbes.

iPhone X's Face ID keeps getting tricked. It didn't even have failed attempts. These materials and tools are casual for anyone.

MacRumors, however, countered that Bkav only managed to come up with a flawless copy of the user's face because it had access to the right resources. If Face ID detects that you aren't the owner, or you are not paying attention to the iPhone, it will not show the notifications. "About 2 weeks ago, we recommended that only very important people such as national leaders, large corporation leaders, billionaires, etc. should be cautious when using Face ID". To prove its point, the security firm said fingerprints cannot be collected by hackers at a distance, while photographs can.

When Touch ID was first introduced in the iPhone 5S in 2013 there were many similar demonstrations of how it could be fooled with a fake fingerprint. As this experiment was just released yesterday there is no comment yet from Apple. Earlier this month, a 10-year-old boy was documented to have unlocked his mother's iPhone X. There are also reports of twins unlocking their sibling's handset.
