Forever 21 Warns Shoppers About Data Breach

American fashion retailer Forever 21 is this week dealing with the potential fallout of a major credit card breach at its retail stores.

Popular clothing retailer Forever 21 revealed on Tuesday (14 November) that hackers may have gained unauthorised access to payment card systems at some of its stores, potentially compromising the credit card details of customers who shopped there.

Company officials say a report from a third party sparked the investigation of its payment card systems.

The investigation is focused on transactions made in store from March to October this year.

According to Reuters, the company said the unauthorized access occurred at "certain stores", but did not indicate which ones. Forever 21 operates hundreds of stores worldwide, with a lot of them located in the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and the UK.

Complete findings are not yet available because of the ongoing investigation.

"We regret that this incident occurred and apologize for any inconvenience", Forever 21 said. "We will continue to work to address this matter", Forever 21 said in a short notice on its website announcing the data breach.

As more information is released we'll update this story.

The company advises that customers keep an eye on their cards and make their banks aware of any unauthorized activity.
