Manchester City not invincible, says Wenger

Arsene Wenger Doubles Down on Referee Criticism, Raheem Sterling 'Dive'

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has slammed referee Michael Oliver for the penalty he awarded during his side's defeat at the hands of Manchester City this month.

City are now eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, unbeaten in 11 games and are looking unbeatable.

Last time out, City were 3-1 victors over the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium in a match that left Wenger seething with the quality of refereeing in the top flight.

"I don't think that will be possible because I think you have so many games and too many important games", said the Belgian ace.

Wenger is still frustrated by the decisions made in that game, but is convinced City are not unbeatable.

SBUT to bid for 3 of Dawood's properties in Bhendi Bazaar
Damarwala building was home to Dawood Ibrahim and his family members in late eighties. The Reserve price kept for the present auction was Rs 1,23,43,000.

"If you look at the expected goals, it was 0.7 for them and 0.6 for us". A penalty is a deliberate foul in the box, it's not a provoked foul in the box.

"Overall, I think we were hugely punished with the goal".

"The referee had an absolutely atrocious input into the result of the game".

Arsenal are the only team to go unbeaten throughout an entire Premier League season (2003-04) and when asked whether City could emulate his "Invincibles" the Frenchman said there was still a long way to go.

In a sit-down interview with beIN Sports, Wenger played down City's ability at home while missing his chance to apologise to Raheem Sterling and instead shifting his perspective on Sterling's so-called dive. "But I believe the real experience to manage a team is on a daily basis, I will not always have the physical strength to do that so maybe I will move into that" added Wenger. "I don't know more than you. But at the moment only one team has done it".
