Prisoner alleges Ram Rahim being given extra time to meet family

Rahul Jain who came out on bail on Friday claimed that Ram Rahim stays confined in barracks and does no work in a contradiction to reports that he was growing vegetables in the jail at Rs 20 per day

Rohtak: Rejecting claims by Gurmeet Ram Rahim's jail inmates, Haryana Government on Tuesday said that no VIP treatment is being given to Dera Sacha Sauda chief in Rohtak jail.

Rahul Jain, the convict out on bail said that the attitude of jail authorities towards Ram Rahim was different as compared to other prisoners.

He reiterated that the reason why he feels that Ram Rahim is getting VIP treatment is the fact that 'none of us have ever seen him, we are just told he is lodged here'.

Jain claims that Ram Rahim, unlike other prisoners, doesn't work on his assigned duties. "I don't think he does any jail work", Rahul said, further adding that visitors coming to meet him stay on for two hours although regular visitors are allowed only twenty minutes of access.

He said prisoners faced extreme difficulties when Ram Rahim was brought to Rohtak jail. "Since he came, everyone is having a lot of problems".

He claimed that the situation improved somewhat when a prisoner approached a judge, who pulled up the jail administration. "The supply gradually began after that", Jain said.

Donald Trump calls Asia trip 'fruitful' with trade progress, nuclear reassurance
Asian leaders banked on the fact that flattery works - and they were right. "So we'll be making a major statement on Wednesday". Together, we have, in our power, to finally liberate this region, and the world, from this very serious nuclear business.

Rahul said that he had never seen Ram Rahim inside the prison premises.

Ram Rahim has been handed two sentences of ten years each for the two counts of rape, and is locked up in Haryana's Sunaria Jail.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison on August 28 this year.

Soon after Ram Rahim was lodged in the Rohtak jail, reports emerged that the 50-year-old self styled godman spends his time in jail growing vegetables, pruning trees- eight hours a day just for Rs 20.

The last reports on him suggested that due to security reasons, the jail authorities had changed his prisoner number. "We have never seen him work either".
