Trump asked for Xi's help in UCLA players' shoplifting case

An anonymous USA official told The Washington Post that charges against the three players have been reduced. Trump lamented that the U.S.is "so far behind" China, while Xi simply noted that the Pacific has room for both countries.

Asked if he expects the players to come home soon, Mr. Trump said, "I hope so".

"What they did was unfortunate", Trump told reporters in Manila. Hua Chunying, a spokeswoman for China's Foreign Ministry, said the case had been reported to U.S. authorities, saying, "China is handling this case in accordance with the law, and will guarantee the rights in accordance with the law, for those involved in this case".

Schumer alleged that after eight years of Republicans questioning President Barack Obama's toughness with foreign leaders it seems that Trump, not Obama, is the one who's afraid to take on America's adversaries. He also got good reviews at the start of his Asia tour in Japan, which has been currying favor with Trump since right after his election when Prime Minister Shinzo Abe jetted off to Trump Tower with an expensive golf club as a present.

Body found near sites of 3 unsolved Tampa slayings
The area where Felton's body was found is close to where three other murders occurred in Seminole Heights last month. On Oct. 9, victim Benjamin Mitchell, 22, was waiting for a bus on North 15th Street and Frierson Avenue in Tampa.

In turn, Trump lavished praise on leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, even suggesting that the USA trade imbalance with China, something he said along the campaign trail was the equivalent of China "raping" the United States, was not China's fault, but the fault of past U.S. leadership.

"He's been terrific", Trump said, in an apparent reference to Xi. Trump's pronouncements on North Korea during the trip swung from embracing diplomacy to warnings of military intervention. Days later, after Pyongyang dismissed the speech as "reckless remarks by an old lunatic", Trump tweeted: "Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me 'old, ' when I would NEVER call him 'short and fat?'".

The players were released on bail Wednesday morning in Hangzhou, China, and reportedly did not accompany the team back to Los Angeles after UCLA's 63-60 victory over Georgia Tech. The president said it was important for Putin to say that, adding that "he is very, very strong in the fact that he didn't do it".
