Who Is Jody Warner? Drunken Prosecutor Fired After Abusing, Threatening Uber Driver

Platt picked up Warner at Capitol Pub in Old East Dallas on Friday night and was supposed to drive her home but the passenger allegedly told him to follow a route different from his GPS directions which caused him to get lost

Uber driver Shaun Platt told the Dallas Morning News that he picked up prosecutor Jody Warner at the Capitol Pub in Old East Dallas on Friday, Nov. 10 and set out to drive her home.

On November 13, Faith Johnson, the Criminal District Attorney for Dallas County, Texas, announced in a press release that she was firing Jody Warner as a result of the incident.

Adding, 'As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom. The 26-year-old driver told the Dallas Morning News that an argument had sparked between him and Warner when she told Platt to change his GPS-directed route and he got lost.

Mr Platt however, pointed out that she was free to leave. 'She said, "You can follow the [expletive] GPS" and she became increasingly angry, even though I was just trying to get her home'.

Platt told the local newspaper that Warner, who appeared intoxicated, began hitting him on his shoulder and warned him that she was a district attorney.

"I said, 'Nope that's it, ' and I pulled over on the side of the road".

Platt, who could not be reached for comment, said he was "totally afraid" of being arrested when police arrived.

Added Warner, 'Who are they going to believe? "I'm a district attorney", Warner allegedly told him. The female on the audio tape responds, "Oh my God, you're going to regret this so much". 'You had the opportunity to take me home.

The woman continues to call Platt names. "But you don't treat people that way".

"Oh my God, you're an idiot".

Ram Rahim has been handed two sentences of ten years each for the two counts of rape, and is locked up in Haryana's Sunaria Jail. Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison on August 28 this year.

The driver recorded the incident, and in the footage, a woman's voice is heard calling plat "stupid", "an idiot" and "a legitimate retard". "It was not how I expected the night to go".

"I'm an assistant district attorney so shut the [expletive] up", she said.

Warner then apparently thought the driver was up to no good. "I cringe whenever I hear or think about the things that I said that night", Warner told ABC News.

"It's not kidnapping, ma'am".

But she continued to accuse him of kidnapping her since he did not take her to the requested destination, while he repeatedly told her to exit the vehicle. She also says, "you're so stupid, I want the cops to come, I want the cops to come so that they can [expletive] you up...that's what I want". "You're kidnapping me. You're committing a third- to first-degree felony, so do you want to take me home?"

The Uber driver called police and there are questions about whether the assistant district attorney got preferential treatment. The driver said he felt the situation was spiralling out of control and called 911.

'We'll wait for the cops then if that's what you think is appropriate, ' she continued. 'You don't just end a ride ... Platt: "Ma'am, please." Warner: "No, 'Ma'am, please.' Dude, everything is being recorded".

Platt says he posted the audio to his Facebook page, feeling he'd been wronged by Warner's behavior, but then took it down after getting threats and negative feedback. "I forgive her." But Warner's employer was not so forgiving. "What a joke. Jesus Christ, I'll make sure Uber knows what an [expletive] joke you are".

"You're kidnapping me", she continued.
