Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said the government would complete its constitutional term ending in June next year after which elections would be held in August and democracy would move ahead.
Earlier, The PM chaired a meeting on the development projects in Balochistan at the Governor's House in Quetta, the PM Office media wing said in a statement.
The meeting was attended among others by Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Federal Minister SAFRON Abdul Qadir, National Security Advisor Nasser Janjua, Commander Southern Command, IG FC, Home Minister Balochistan, Chief Secretary of the province and IG Police.
Official sources say he will also meet members of the parliament and will hold a meeting with a delegation of Hazara community.
Fifty percent of special developmental package would be provided by the provincial government while remaining fifty percent by federal government.
Under the new development programme, the premier told reporters after chairing a high-level meeting at the Governor's House in Quetta, all union councils in the province would receive electricity, water, gas, health and educational facilities.
Abbasi asserted that all institutions of the country were dicharging their due responsibilities in accordance with law and urged that democratic process should continue.
He also announced installation of 11 liquefied natural gas (LPG) plants in different parts of the province at a cost of Rs200 million. "Schools will be built in every district of the province".
The prime minister directed the provincial government to delineate future planning in this regard and dispatch it to the federal government and these projects would be incorporated in the federal PSDP.
Abbasi said the socio-economic development of the people of Balochistan was among the top priorities of the federal government.
The premier further said that the centre is ready to assist the province in any way it requires in the fight against terrorism.
