Celebrities Now Provide Personal Answers to Important Questions on Google Search

Thanks to this new "feature", Mr. Ferrell himself will now provide the answer via a selfie video, all within Google Search.

Currently, says Google in its blogpost, big names like Will Ferrell, Tracee Ellis Ross, Nick Jonas, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, and others have participated.

If you search for a question with a pre-recorded video answer, the clip will appear at the top of search results where information from Google's knowledge graph usually sits. This new category of results are called "Answered on Google" with the question listed below the video with an accompanying tag of the question's category, including Most asked on Google, Trending, and Google Fan.

After watching the first video, the carousel automatically switches to the next one in the celeb's series of Q&A's, or you can can choose to swipe through them yourself. Google considers these "selfie-style videos" as being "uniquely personal, authentic and delightful touch". In the past, Google has allowed brands and other personalities to post directly to Google but only with text entries.

LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball signing with agent, will turn professional
A professional team in Lithuania has offered the Ball Brothers a job, but not the one they are looking for. According to ESPN, the plan is now for both to play on the same team overseas.

The difference here, however, is that the videos live directly in search, so they'll show up on the mobile web and through Google-owned apps and not just on a standard website video player or YouTube embed.

Google notes that these results are "coming directly from the source".

With this launch, Google was trying to make its search engine itself a more social product, instead of only relying on the Twitter search results it aggregates to pull in these sort of shorter answers.

The feature may also increase users' time on site using Google, which could impact the company's bottom line.
