Ed Sheeran just collected his MBE from Prince Charles

Modest Ed was modest about his achievements saying he owed his success to persistence

On Thursday, Sheeran not-so-casually headed to Buckingham Palace, where he was made an MBE, meaning he's now officially a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

"Fans were quick to praise the star, with one writing: "@edsheeran deserves this award and so much more for everything he does to make this world a better place", while another added: "Congratulations Ed Sheeran picked up his MBE from Prince Charles for his music and charity work".

Prince Charles presented the "Shape of You" singer with the award - which Ed says was a surreal experience.

The "Perfect" hitmaker said the 69-year-old royal was amazed that he was jetting off to NY immediately after to play a concert, and jokingly asked if he's still making lots of money from his record sales.

The global superstar has also worked with a range of charities including East Anglia's Children's Hospices - an organisation he supports as an ambassador and has the Duchess of Cambridge as its royal patron.

Now Are The Time To Reconsider Delphi Automotive PLC (NYSE:DLPH)
BidaskClub upgraded shares of Delphi Automotive from a sell rating to a hold rating in a research report on Thursday, August 24th. It operates through three divisions: Electrical/Electronic Architecture, Powertrain Systems, and Electronics and Safety.

The singer-songwriter said he was dashing off to have a celebratory curry with his parents John and Imogen Sheeran in central London, before catching his flight to NY.

You might think that Ed Sheeran's life is spent decking the halls, appearing on Game of Thrones and getting into unusual accidents: Not so!

The singer-songwriter who has enjoyed phenomenal worldwide success, spoke about his grandfather Bill Sheeran after the ceremony.

From sleeping rough outside Buckingham Palace to receiving a MBE from the Prince of Wales inside the Palace the Castle on the Hill singer has come a long way.

As a young boy Sheeran set his sights on becoming a performer and in his teenage years he pursued his dream, endlessly gigging and later releasing songs as he tried to gain a foothold in the music business.
