Everton to pitch youngsters into Limassol clash

San Allardyce and Sammy Lee

Everton's dismal Europa League campaign comes to a close tonight as the Toffees come up against Apollon Limassol and Craig Shakespeare is manager for the night as Sam Allardyce misses the trip to Cyprus because of "a prior medical arrangement".

The Liverpool Echo has revealed that the 63-year-old will stay in the United Kingdom while the rest of the Toffees' squad fly out to take on Apollon Limassol in the last of their Group E matches.

"I have come here, I know my role, my responsibilities, I want to try and improve the players, try to improve the football club, improve myself as well".

The absent manager warned travelling supporters earlier this week to be "mindful" that he was set to send a team to Cyprus' southern coast that was "not going to be risking too many players" that would be involved against Liverpool, although it appears there may still be placed up for grabs. I have to deal with it.

Bradley Beal gets championship-like celebration after dropping career-high 51 points
McCollum who scored 13 of his team-high 26 points in the fourth quarter who helped fuel the comeback victory for his team. The Blazers certainly don't want to give up another 123 points like they did at home to New Orleans their last time out.

Shakespeare and Duncan Ferguson will be in the technical area for the tie, but the former Leicester boss insists they will be following instructions from Allardyce.

Allardyce underwent heart surgery back in December 2009 to fix a narrow coronary artery during his time in charge of then-Premier League side Blackburn Rovers. Everton summer signings Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez were left out for the win over Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, and both could be given the opportunity to prove their worth on Thursday.

Morgan Schneiderlin has told the Daily Star that he is looking forward to being given a fresh start at Everton.
