'Pokemon Go' holiday event kicks off today with even more new Pokemon

Niantic's website has confirmed that more water and ice-types from Gen 3 are coming to this new Pokemon GO update.

SAN FRANCISCO-Pokemon Go is moving into a different dimension on the iPhone, thanks to software that allows the game to play new tricks with its menagerie of digital critters. Sharpeedo, Wailmer, and even the legendary Kyogre are shown in the promotional image, so fans are probably getting a holiday raid as well.

Besides these free goodies, Pokemon GO's holiday event will also bring with it bonuses in its in-game shop.

Players will soon be able to sneak behind a Pokemon in order to have a higher chance of catching them - a feature that provides more realism and variety to the current gameplay of "Pokemon GO". During this 4-days period, Pokemon Go players will receive a special bonus for the first PokeStop visit. this special bonus includes single-use Egg Incubator with the first Photo Disc spin.

Retired Maine State Police Trooper Accused of Trafficking Fentanyl, Cocaine
State Police say they have arrested a retired state trooper and are charging him with selling cocaine and fentanyl. Linscott is from Buxton and retired from State Police service in 2010 after 22 years of service.

All things considered, it looks like Niantic is going all out for Pokemon GO's holiday event this year by making ice-type Pokemon more common, adding new goodies to the store, bringing back Santa Hat Pikachu, and introducing brand new Pokemon to the game.

Starting from December 21, until December 25 at 1:00 PM PST, there will be special boxes sale including the new Star Piece item, Super Incubators and Lure Modules. Then, from December 25 through January 4, the in-game shop will then feature special boxes with items like Premium Raid Passes, Super Incubators, and Star Pieces. Just like a year ago, players will be able to catch the Santa hat-wearing Pikachu, but this time it's not alone.

Pokemon Go has offered an AR option since its release 17 months ago, but Apple's technology is more advanced than what the game has been using.
