PUBG Desert Map Shown Off, 1.0 Release Date Announced

The Coalition Microsoft Studios

Although PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become something of a worldwide phenomenon, gamers everywhere are undoubtedly exhausted of experiencing the same Russian landscape time and time again.

Microsoft has finally revealed which team worked with PUBG Corp.to help bring PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to the Xbox One and it's none other than The Coalition, the developers of Gears of War 4.

In addition to the new map Bluehole, the publisher behind the game announced three cosmetic packs for the Xbox Ones Game Preview launch of PUBG, slated to release December 12.

SoulCalibur VI will release for PC in 2018
The gameplay trailer showed off both characters using weapons that had different coloured lighting. SoulCalibur 6 signals Bandai Namco's intent to move beyond it's other big fighting series Tekken.

Whereas the one existing map, Erangel, has lush forests and lots of green, Miramar is quite different in terms of layout and design. It's called Miramar, and it was shown in motion for the first time Thursday night during The Game Awards.

Miramar is a larger desert area that's been teased for some time. The abandoned factory town of Chumacera looks to be an interesting location to visit, and the oceanside Valle del Mar (Valley of the Sea) will play an important role, connecting a prison island to the map's mainland. After a hectic year of development, and a record breaking influx of players, Battlegrounds' version 1.0 will, says Bluehole, arrive on PC on December 20th.

The company also debuted a trailer for the Xbox One version of the game, and confirmed that the game has reached over 24 million copies sold.
