Cape Town City announce the signing of Allan Kateregga

Allan Kateregga has joined Cape Town City

Former AFC Leopards winger Allan Kateregga has signed for Cape Town City in South Africa.

Kateregga has been signed to fill the void left by the departure of Aubrey Ngoma to Mamelodi Sundowns earlier this month and quickly won over McCarthy.

He brings with him the experience of playing on the African continent, a rarity in a City squad that will take their place in the Confederation Cup next month for the first time.

Club boss John Comitis shed some light on the thought process behind the new arrival.

The left footed Ugandan attack commonly known as "Dancing Rasta" impressed Cape Town City head coach Benni McCarthy during his time at Kenya Premier League side AFC Leopards and monitored him through the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup that was held a year ago in Kenya.

"There were a few options for us in the market‚ but once Benni saw Kateregga play he basically just simply said "this is the one".

Kateregga becomes City's fourth acquisition so far in the transfer window, after already securing the services of Bradley Ralani, Masoud Juma and Kwanda Mngonyama.
