Florida man arrested, banned from airport after urinating on floor of plane

A belligerent Spirit Airlines passenger who was flying to MI was arrested after allegedly urinating all over the lavatory floor during a flight from Fort Myers to MI while intoxicated.

According to Lee County Port Authority Police, representatives from Spirit Airlines spotted Bencivenga nodding off and smelling like alcohol as he waited to board his flight.

After passengers finished boarding, the gate agent received a call that said Bencivenga had peed all over the toilet and carpet in the plane bathroom.

The gate agent called police after Bencivenga "became belligerent and began to curse at him". He demanded to take a breathalyzer test to prove his sobriety, but a responding officer denied saying "it wasn't necessary", WBBH reported. He was rebooked on another flight scheduled for Friday, but refused to leave the concourse and continued to cause disruption in the terminal.

Bencivenga was ultimately arrested after telling the officer to "go ahead and put the bracelets on me", because "I'm not leaving".

Bencivenga was arrested on charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication. He was booked into Lee County Jail and was issued a trespass warning that forbids him to return to the airport for a year, unless for official business.
