Large grass fire threatens home forces evacuations in north Texas

The grass fire, which has burned at least 200 acres, is raging just north of I-20 near where it merges with Interstate 30, Parker County spokesman Joel Kertok said. No homes in the area were impacted but cattle were evacuated.

Firefighters have now contained 40 percent of a wildfire that has closed two heavily traveled interstates in North Texas. Winds and dry conditions allowed the fire to spread west, toward the more populated part of the town.

"If it wasn't for all the help that we received from Parker County and Tarrant County and all the other surrounding agencies, it would have been probably worse", said Chief Mike Lenoir with the Willow Park Fire Department.
