Pakistan Army Warns of Response to India's Misadventure

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif

He said India was unsuccessfully targeting Pakistan through sub-conventional threats and "state-sponsored terrorism" because it could not subdue Pakistan through conventional engagement following overt nuclearisation in the region. If that is what they (India) desire, they are welcome to test our resolve.

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor Saturday, while responding to the Indian army chief's "nuclear bluff" statement about Pakistan, said such statements were unbecoming from a person of a responsible stature.

The Pakistani side defeated the Indian side by 15 to 3.5 goals in the most-awaited match of the event, the ISPR statement added. "If given the task, we will not say we can not cross the border because they have nuclear weapons", Rawat said while speaking to reporters in New Delhi.

He said Pakistan's nuclear technology was only to fight the menace of eastern border (along India).

Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif warned that Indian army chief's statement amounted to invitation for nuclear encounter.

Trump issues ultimatum to fix Iran nuclear deal
Trump has argued behind the scenes that the nuclear deal makes the United States look weak, a senior U.S. official said. Iran will never renegotiate the 2015 nuclear deal despite the USA pressures, Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

He said General Rawat's comments were unbefitting of an army chief. We have a credible nuclear capability, exclusively meant for threat from east. General Rawat was responding to a question on the possibility of Pakistan using its nuclear weapon should the situation along the border deteriorate. "Pakistan is fully capable of defending itself", said Mohammad Faisal, spokesman for the Foreign Office in a statement. "Pakistan has demonstrated deterrence capability", he tweeted from his personal handle.

"These are not issues to be taken lightly".

In a provocative statement on Friday, General Bipin Rawat said the Indian military was ready to call Pakistan's "nuclear bluff" and cross the border to carry out any operation if asked by the New Delhi government.

The development of Pakistani tactical nuclear weapons has been a source of concern for the United States, because it believes the smaller size of the arsenal increases the risk of a nuclear conflict with India. "They [India] must not remain in illusion".
