In an incredibly odd case, a woman who has never left the United States went to bed with a headache and woke up with a different accent - thanks to a rare medical condition.
Rare as it can be, a woman from Texas suffering debilitating headaches woke up with a British accent. Talking with foreign accents have had notable effects on her well-being, as a crucial part of her identity goes through a frequent flux.
The mom (or "mummy", as one of her daughters now calls her) and former Texas beauty queen has had three accent changes in the past, she told ABC15.

FAS is known to cause a person to speak with foreign intonation while still speaking their native language.
"They send in the psychiatrist at the hospital and make sure you're not a loon", Myers said. But her British accent still lingers to this day, two years after her first symptoms appeared. She's been speaking the foreign accent since then.
Myers said she wants people to take her condition seriously. After that incident, Myers was diagnosed with FAS.
FAS was first documented in 1907, when French neurologist Pierre Marie surveyed a Parisian man who suffered a stroke and suddenly spoke with an Alsatian accent, although he was not from the French-German border region where the language is spoken. It seems that this has led to her talking in three different accents until now.
Myers suggests her diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which caused her chronic pain from childhood into adulthood, could have triggered her accent change.
"Who would do this for attention?"
"It was a joke in my family that I'm awful at accents, so I think when they heard how good it was, they knew I wasn't kidding!" she said. "The person I am now has been through so much compared to this person", she said.
"I have been diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines - meaning my headaches are accompanied by temporary weakness on one side of the body and numbness", she told the United Kingdom outlet.
