Emmanuel Macron to propose reorganization of Islam in France

Macron has said no to Corsican demands

In a recent phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron warned that he considers chemical weapon use in Syria to be "a red line", and that France will "strike" Syria if such an attack is proven.

"A very clear red line exists on our side: the use of chemical weapons by anyone", Macron said, promising "retaliation and an immediate response from France".

"If we have proof that chemical weapons banned by treaties have been used, we will hit where they are made, where they come from", Macron said, according to Bloomberg. Syria has denied using chemical weapons, and insists they disarmed several years ago.

The vice-president of the Syria Civil Defence, or "White Helmets", responded on Tuesday, saying France should stop talking about red lines and focus on real action.

"There is no taboo about this subject", Macron told reporters.

YouTube star couple targeted by gunman in home invasion attack
Giles recorded threatening thoughts about Free, including "I want Gavin Free to die alone, with no children", the warrant says. Police searched Giles' phone, where they found multiple notes in which he talks about Turney and Free by name.

"We are working on the structuring [he used the word structuration] of Islam in France and also on how to explain it, which is extremely important", Macron told the Journal du Dimanche in an interview Sunday.

A joint investigation team comprising experts from the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons concluded that the Syrian government used chlorine gas in at least two attacks in 2014 and 2015.

On-the-ground observers reported last month that Syrian forces were deploying chlorine gas during air strikes on rebel positions.

His comments follow numerous reports of suspected chlorine attacks in Syria since early January.
