Facebook launches 'Lists' to personalise status update box

As per the report, Facebook with the introduction of this new feature is trying to add much more personalised content to the platform, so that users don't see a lot of random content filling up their news feeds.

However, you can currently only post lists through the Android version of the Facebook app, TechCrunch reports. iOS users only have the ability to view other people's lists right now.

Users can create their own lists with colored backgrounds, and decorate them with emoji. The new feature has also been designed so that they are shareable and friends can copy a list and share it together with their own opinions. There's no word yet on when the feature will come to iOS. Like we said, this is just the latest update to the status feature that Facebook has introduced in recent times.

"The balance of what's in News Feed has shifted away from the most important thing Facebook can do - help us connect with each other". According to Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, the company's priority this year is to make sure the site is "good for people's well-being", though he has conceded that this change may mean users spend less time on the platform.

"Based on this, we're making a major change to how we build Facebook". The new way of posting status is called "Lists". In 2017, the research firm found the demographic of 12- to 17-year-olds declined by 9.9 percent or about 1.4 million users. Over the course of 2017, eMarketer found some 2.8 million U.S. users under the age of 25 left the platform.

But Facebook is still the world's dominant social network by far, drawing in more than two billion users ever single month - around a third of the world's population.

Lists will appear as a part of the "What's on your mind?" status update box as an option alongside Polls, Feeling/Activity, Photo/Video, Check In, GIF, and other items.

Here are some suggestions for list topics you might want to post on Facebook: Best memes, your personal workout regime, 10 places you want to visit, and best free Netflix movies.

Facebook wants you to share your to-do lists and rank your favorite things.
