The judge made a decision to hold the hearing behind closed doors despite protests from the Tamimi family who say media attention is essential to ensure a fair trial.

Many Israelis say Ahed Tamimi has always been exploited by her family, who they accuse of using her to try to provoke Israeli soldiers on film.
Israelis accuse her family of using her as a pawn in staged provocations. She was arrested, and now faces charges of aggravated assault, obstructing the work of soldiers, and incitement.
The charges relate to events in the video and five other incidents.
Ahed's mother, Nariman, also faces trial over her involvement in the slapping incident, in which she filmed Ahed with a cellphone camera calling on her fellow Palestinians to stab Israelis, throw rocks at them and offer themselves as suicide bombers in order to "liberate Palestine".
Nariman was charged for posting videos of her daughter's protests against Israel on Facebook, and was accused of "incit [ing] others to commit terrorist attacks", said The Guardian News website.
The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has criticised Israeli authorities" actions in the case, while the European Union has expressed concern over Israel "s detention of minors, including Ahed Tamimi.
"As an unarmed girl, Ahed posed no threat during the altercation with the two Israeli soldiers who were heavily armed and wearing protective clothing", said Magdalena Mughrabi, Amnesty International's deputy director for the Middle East and Africa.
Tamimi has been in detention in Israel since her arrest at her home in December where she was filmed physically confronting Israel soldiers at her family's property in Nabi Salah in the Israel-occupied West Bank.
