'Missing' Whiteface Mountain Skier Found In California

Constantinos

Constantinos "Danny" Filippidis, a Toronto firefighter, made contact with Sacramento area officers and was "alive and in good health", ending the almost six-day search for him at the Whiteface Mountain ski resort in Wilmington, New York, where he was last seen, the New York state police said in a release.

Constantinos "Danny" Filippidis, 49, was last seen February 7 skiing with friends and family at Whiteface Mountain in upstate NY.

Dozens of his co-workers, including Ramagnano, left their Canadian posts and flocked to the Wilmington wilderness to help Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers, New York State Police and Whiteface Mountain ski patrol look for him, never realizing he was nowhere near the Adirondack Mountains.

New York State Police said the circumstances regarding this case were under investigation and further details would be released at a later time.

The 49-year-old was with a group of fellow firefighters from Toronto on an annual ski trip.

"It's a confusing situation, but we will have to let the local authorities (in Sacramento) deal with that", Frank Ramaganona, spokesman for the Toronto Fire Fighters Association, said Tuesday. He is in good health, state police said.

South Africa captures three Gupta family members in raid
Reuters was unable to confirm the email's authenticity and Baloyi did not answer her phone or respond to text messages. Mashatile said Zuma had been given until Wednesday to submit his resignation letter.

"She quickly recognized the voice and that it was him", Ramagnano told reporters at a press conference.

He reportedly told police he had not been the victim of any crime. When police located Filippidis they were concerned and got him medical attention, according to Ramagnano, who said it was his understanding that Filippidis was still receiving medical care.

"He said he was dropped off by a truck driver, he said he slept a lot during the trip here, and he didn't have a lot of recollection of how he got from A to B", said Hampton.

The firefighter was found in California still wearing his ski gear appearing "dazed and confused", Ramagano said. "They'll do a comprehensive investigation", Ramagnano said. "We use the terms "brother" and "sister" and I'm glad that they're not just words because the actions of (our members) this past week really showed me that we are a family".

"I saw the pain in his kids eyes when we were there".

"We are all very relieved to know that he is safe, following what has been an exhaustive search operation", Pegg wrote.
