Rohit Sharma, wrist spinners help India script history in South Africa

Dhawan may have missed attending the national anthem on the field but he didn't go missing while scoring a hundred

No longer will that albatross hang around India's neck. In Cape Town, Rohit Sharma was dismissed without scoring, in the first over of the game. But, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and bowled out for 201 in 42.2 overs.

Shreyas Iyer has been showing the elements of an global batsman, but he has failed to strike big as he edged Ngidi to Klaasen behind the wicket just when it seemed that he was building the platform for a late innings flourish.

The match witnessed some action-packed moments, which saw dropped catches, poor fielding and the Proteas batsmen dominating the Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Dhawan said it is important to go through failures in life to learn lessons and Chahal and Yadav should take it in their stride and look ahead.

The first time the pair were involved in such incident was in 2011 at Kingston, through no fault of Rohit though.

Virat Kohli has always backed team-mate Rohit Sharma to the hilt, but when it comes to running between the wickets, the skipper may do better to be a little more wary.

Meghan Markle Had Her First Kate Middleton Twinning Moment
The couple was there to visit the Band of the Royal Marines when they met Cruachan, the mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. She said: "We are expecting to see Meghan and Harry , we are so excited".

The top three of Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli contributed four centuries, three half-centuries and almost 900 runs between them in the five games. This synergy between a daintily skilled six-hitter and the world's most renowned constructor of an ODI innings allowed India to hover around the 6rpo mark even while the Indian captain scored a run for every two balls he faced.

WICKET! Shikhar Dhawan departs as Andile Phehlukwayo takes a good catch at deep backward square leg, as Kagiso Rabada celebrates his wicket.

It was a long time coming (smiles). The bowler would hit 150 kph during the match, and had his revenge in his next over. India has already won 3 out of the 4 games and leading the 6 match series by 3-1. It was a quality innings on a wicket that looked slow and sluggish as the game progressed. Numerous replays could not determine conclusively whether Kohli had half a millimetre behind the line or not, and eventually the batsman was given not out. But a close call was decided in the batsman's favour by Aleem Dar, but Kohli's luck ran out soon.

South Africa required one of their misfiring top-order to match India's vaunted top three, and Hashim Amla appeared to be on his way after Ajinkya Rahane offered him a lifeline on 38. Suddenly, you are looking at 118 runs in eight innings with six out of eight dismissals to Kagisa Rabada. Ngidi wrecked plans of a late assault, but India had enough on the board to feel confident.

"We lost wickets in clumps and never got any momentum although it was a decent tally to chase", South Africa's stand-in captain Aiden Markram said. Hardik Pandya bottom-edged the next ball to Heinrich Klaasen and Iyer top-edged Ngidi to the wicketkeeper as well. He was the eighth wicket to fall, stumped off Kuldeep and by then the match was heading only one way.
