Susan Rice Email Puts Obama in Crosshairs of Muellergate

Barack Obama and Susan Rice

A bombshell email from former National Security Advisor Susan Rice sent during President Trump's inauguration is raising serious questions over former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's congressional testimony; highlighting possible inconsistencies over high-level meetings with President Obama during Trump's transition.

"Did President Obama have any other meetings with Mr. Comey, Ms. Yates, or other government officials about the FBI' s investigation of allegations of collusion between Trump associates and Russian Federation?" the letter asked.

The email, which surfaced through a Senate Judiciary request for records of White House meetings concerning the nascent Russian Federation investigation, raised questions for Sens. Lindsey Graham, the partially unclassified email was sent by Rice on January 20, 2017 - and appears to document a January 5 meeting that included Obama, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, then-Vice President Joe Biden and Rice. The two released a letter with Rice's email and a long list of pointed questions about when it was written, why and so forth.

The partially unclassified email appears to detail a meeting that took place on January 5, 2017, two weeks before Trump's inauguration.

Did Rice simply want to refresh her own memory about the contents of a meeting from weeks before-using an email address which, as an outgoing White House staffer, she would lose access to in mere hours?

Rice continued, saying, "President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we can not share information fully as it relates to Russian Federation".

She added, "The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team".

"President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office", Rice wrote in her email, which was dated the day before Trump's inauguration.

Omarosa offered sex to Piers Morgan to win 'Celebrity Apprentice,' he says
The claim - "he thinks Jesus tells him to say things ..." Morgan said he told her she was "completely deluded". Unless you have been living under a rock, you will have heard the name Omarosa at some point.

Grassley and Graham say they question whether the Obama administration conducted the Trump investigation "by the book".

Grassley and Graham noted in a letter to Rice that they found the timing of the email odd.

During his appearance on "The Story With Martha MacCallum", Graham said, "W$3 e know the investigation regarding the Trump campaign was anything but by the book".

"It's the oddest thing in the world to send an email to yourself on Inauguration Day about a conversation held on January 5th".

The email stands in sharp contrast with public statements made by the former president, who claims to have not been involved in the FBI's investigations into Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Grassley and Graham asked Rice in their letter.

Rice was asked to reply by February 22. It was paid for by 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, which she controlled.

Napolitano noted that Obama himself to Fox's Chris Wallace in 2016 that he didn't speak to anyone at the Department of Justice about any campaign-related investigations.

The email also corroborates text messages sent between Federal Bureau of Investigation agents working on the Clinton and Trump cases, that Obama "wants to know everything we're doing".
