The Samsung Galaxy S9 may have stereo speakers and 3D emoji

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Android Oreo Update Now Available For Malaysian Users

According to Korean website ETNews, the rumoured £789 Samsung flagship will boast a "more advanced" take on the 3D characters, including animals.

The phone is also expected to feature an improved camera while some analysts believe the Galaxy Note 9 will feature the upcoming Snapdragon 845 CPU, at least in some regions.

Last year, the rumor mill claimed that the Galaxy S8 would get an optical fingerprint reader.

We're not sure if that refers to hardware, software or the number of emojis you can animate, but we're looking forward to testing out the feature if it actually comes to the Galaxy S9.

Taco Bell's Brian Niccol Tapped To Lead Chipotle Out Of Its Miseries
Williams previously served as chief financial officer of Taco Bell, leading six years of strong sales, profit and brand growth. Wall Street applauded the news; Chipotle's slumping stock price shot up by as much as 12% in after-hours trading.

In fact, this is not the first time Samsung "kanging" an iOS feature. But Samsung's Galaxy Note 9, which was rumored to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor as well, will apparently skip it. The speculation was short-lived, though, as we have known since November that the phone will not have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Users will be able to create their own 3D character based on their own faces, and can be used in place of regular emoticons in messages.

Samsung LSI, Qualcomm, Synaptics, Taiwan's IGES TEC, and Korea's Beyond Eyes have already started working on the development of such sensors. They have been redesigned by Samsung but do correlate to the ones in the standard.

The semi-transparent nature of Samsung's OLED Infinity Displays lowers the accuracy of the optical fingerprint scanners. They have no durability issues, and accuracy is reportedly high as the sensor collects fingerprint information with ultrasound that can pass through thin metal.

Have Samsung's substandard emoji caught you out before? However, it's more expensive to make, and yields are lower than they need to be for a phone as popular as the iPhone. That being said, we've got an interesting camera sample which allegedly belongs to the Samsung Galaxy S9 today. An unnamed executive told The Bell that none of the available technologies are ripe for commercialization right now. "Next year, I think it will be possible [for Samsung Electronics] to mount it".
