Trump calls Oprah Winfrey 'insecure,' says he hopes she runs for office

In what appeared to be his latest effort before finally crashing Sunday night, Trump lit into Oprah Winfrey, who appeared in a Sunday segment of 60 Minutes that was followed-up on her "A Nation Divided" segment that had kicked off the newsmag's 50th season. I like Oprah. I don't think she's going to run.

Winfrey questioned seven MI voters who voted for Trump and seven who voted against him.

Winfrey led a panel discussion with 14 people in MI, who were interviewed a year ago, to mark Trump's first year in office.

Trump's mocking remark about hoping for Winfrey to run for President comes in light of the fact that anti-Trump voices have continually called for her to run for President in 2022.

"I am actually humbled by the fact that people think I could be the leader of the free world, but it's just not in my spirit", Winfrey said.

The entertainer and entertainment mogul drew wide praise in Hollywood and beyond for her speech at the recent Golden Globe Awards, even leading to some people calling her to run for president in 2020. "Yeah, I'll beat Oprah". If God wanted me to run, wouldn't God tell me? "And I haven't heard that". I know her very well.

Frank Luntz, who frequently appears on Fox News and who has been called the "public opinion guru", literally three minutes after the president tweeted his attack on Oprah, chose to stand up for Oprah, and against the president.
