U.S. asks Pakistan to expel terrorists operating from its soil

Ghani's USA -backed government is under growing public pressure to improve security in Kabul after a series of attacks that have shown the ability of the Taliban and IS militants to strike at the Afghan capital.

He said the U.S. has been in discussions with Pakistan but there has been not a "sufficient amount of action" from it against terrorists.

Randall Schriver, the Defense Department's top Asia official, said the $45 billion total for the year includes $5 billion for Afghan forces and $13 billion for USA forces inside Afghanistan. He said there was no evidence Pakistan was backing militants fighting across the border after a spate of violence left hundreds dead and wounded in Kabul last month. "We want to stick to it".

"We may consider lifting the suspension when we see decisive and sustained actions to address our concerns", Sullivan said.

"I understand it's America's longest war, but our security interests in Afghanistan, in the region are significant enough.to back the Afghan government in their struggle against the Taliban", Sullivan said.

"The use of terrorism has no place in a rules-based global system".

WWE Announced Jason Jordan Is Out Indefinitely After Having Neck Surgery
Jason Jordan hasn't been in the ring in weeks, and there's been a lot of speculation regarding his injury and the severity of it. WWE star Jason Jordan could soon undergo neck surgery, according to a recent update from Wrestling Observer Radio .

Relations between Pakistan and the United States have deteriorated in the past year, the Bloomberg report noted.

But Sullivan added that the insurgent group isn't monolithic and the focus is on peeling off "those elements of the Taliban that we can reconcile with".

"We have a policy that we believe in", Sullivan said, arguing that a USA pullout could lead to a Taliban victory that could give al Qaeda a stronghold from which to attack the United States as it did on September 11, 2001. "They may not be able to actually drive them to the negotiating table, but they can help and they can eliminate sanctuaries in their country where they now operate", he said.

He said that he believed the relationship with China was more of a longer term."a deeper relationship, the U.S. is probably more transactional".

"I understand it's a delicate balance for Pakistan. They now control more territory than they did since 2001", Merkley said.
