Schwarzenegger will play the federal marshal, who - as is customary for his heavily-accented characters, regardless of the time period - immigrated to the United States from Europe, apparently to pursue law enforcement. According to Deadline, "as the story unfolds, not only will enemies become allies, but a series of unpredictable surprises will blur the line between good guys and bad" - which basically sound like the same thing.

Should the project move forward, it would mark Schwarzenegger's first regular role in a television series. The Villain came out in 1979, five years before The Terminator, and unless you're a Hal Needham completist or because you want to see Schwarzenegger play a character named "The Handsome Stranger" in a Western-comedy, there's little reason to have seen the film. Neufield is also an executive producer on Amazon's upcoming Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series.
