Assault or Not? Katy Perry Kissed an Unwilling 19-year-old Man

Katy Perry

The American Idol contestant who received his first kiss got from judge Katy Perry is now defending her after the situation struck an uncomfortable chord with some viewers. When Glaze went in for another kiss, the "Roar" singer turned her head and planted one on his lips.

At the time, Perry appeared to play it off as a joke, high fiving the other judges after she landed the peck on Glaze. "I just wanted my first kiss to be someone I knew personally".

Glaze adds that while Perry was technically his first kiss, he shared his first real one with Carrie.

'I was uncomfortable in a sense of how I have never been kissed before and was not expecting it.

"I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry and I am thankful for the judges comments and critiques", Benjamin Glaze said to the Washington Post.

"Katy Perry was my first kiss, but Carrie was my first kiss in a real way", Glaze told "Inside Edition" in a new interview, during which he was joined by Carrie.

He consented to kiss his judge on the cheek, but she promptly mocked him to the audience.

Kentucky's John Calipari mounts Buffalo charm offensive
The Tigers have been steeled by the competition they have faced and have found themselves during the seven-game winning streak. A big reason behind the team's success has been the addition of former Missouri standout Wes Clark , a fifth-year senior.

"If you really sat me down and asked me, I would tell you about how our first kiss was and it was just as special as I wanted it to be", he says.

"He kissed a celebrity - how great for him", she said.

Benjamin started his performance a bit flustered by the unplanned kiss, and all three judges declined to send him to Hollywood.

The contestant said on Instagram: "I would like to clear a few things up for anyone who is confused, concerned, or angry". The way certain articles are worded is not done by me, and my true intentions are not accurately represented in every article you read about the situation.

While Glaze has since retracted his initial comments and stated that he does not believe Perry is guilty of sexual assault, that doesn't change the fact that she crossed a clearly-stated boundary.

Glaze has made a statement over Twitter saying that he doesn't feel that he was "sexually harassed" by the female judge. Glaze says he should have picked another song and calmed himself down regardless of the kiss. I get that this is entertainment and often, the more shocking the better, but this was also this boy's chance to reveal his talents to the world. Thank you to everyone who has followed me in this journey and I hope I answered a few questions.

Coincidentally, in her famous song, Perry sings that she "kissed a girl" merely because she caught her attention and was curious.
