Graphic video shows baseball player attack woman in Texas stadium

A professional baseball player has been released from his Pennsylvania team after video of him beating his then-girlfriend in a stadium stairwell emerged Wednesday.

The Astros cut ties with Vasquez two days after the incident.

The above video was recently released by the Corpus Christi Police Department, where Vasquez is shown walking down a back stairwell with his girlfriend. Vasquez then grabs her hair and drags her down the stairs before hitting her in the face again. Vasquez also reportedly threatened a team employee when the incident was initially discovered. Surprisingly, he cut a plea deal with the District Attorney's officer that would see his charges dismissed if he held up his end of the bargain, taking classes and paying a fine, according to KRIS-TV.

The case against Vasquez was eventually dismissed.

The case against Vasquez was dropped after his girlfriend declined to press charges and the 24-year-old baseball player went on to sign a contract with the Lancaster team. After a few months, he invited her to Venezuela to spend time together, and because of his commitment, he could not leave the country.

Study finds smokers at greater risk of hearing loss
Gary was subsequently attracted to the Smoking Cessation Program which is delivered by the alliance and funded by the PHA. It comes after health officials claimed last summer the end of smoking is finally "in sigh"' following a drop in figures.

They stop to talk, and the man picks up the woman's glasses and puts them back on her.

"Yes I've seen the video, that's what happens in domestic violence cases", Gonzalez said.

'I'm hoping Mr. Vasquez will be the poster boy for our program and never hurt somebody that he's in a relationship with and only time will tell'.

After the video was published, the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League announced they had released Vasquez.

In a statement, The Barnstormers manager, Ross Peeples, said "There is no choice but to sever the relationship", "Neither I, nor the Barnstormers' organization as a whole, can condone or associate with that behavior". He spent the first 2+ seasons of his professional career in their organization before the Tigers traded him in July of 2013, as part of a package, to the Astros in exchange for reliever Jose Veras.
