Hurry up, curious cord-cutters, unless you want to pay more

YouTube TV's standard package will cost $40 per month for new subscribers starting tomorrow, a $5-a-month increase over the pricing that YouTube TV launched with.

YouTube TV is completely separate from Google's free online video site, with which it shares a name. Like those services, it's widely available on many streaming devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Xbox One, iOS and Android - though not Amazon Fire TV devices. You now have access to over 50 networks (including ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox) along with new additions TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies.

With no contract commitment and no penalty to cancel, it's worth trying out YouTube TV at its lower price now.

Also, make sure you sign up through the web, and not through iOS: The higher $40 price is already showing on the latter.

United States jobs data continue to give stocks a lift
Investors will be monitoring consumer-price index data from the Labor Department on Tuesday for more clues on price pressures. Advancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.22-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.45-to-1 ratio favored advancers.

So, with this expansion, it's fairly easy to see why YouTube TV is raising its prices. YouTube TV is also expanding to all "Top 100" US television markets, allowing the streaming service to cover 85 percent of households.

Yet there are a few cheaper options out there: DirecTV Now also starts at $35, and Sling TV starts at $20.

The price hike shouldn't come as a particular surprise, since YouTube TV announced the move a month ago. This would bring the service to a total monthly price of $40 a month. If you've decided that you want to sign up before the price hike goes into effect, you can register over at YouTube TV's website.
