Jose Mourinho slammed for taking 'blood money' from Russian Federation amid spy attack

England manager Gareth Southgate at the World Cup finals draw in Moscow with Belgium's Roberto Martinez

He announced his decision a day after ex-Russian spy, Sergei Skripal, was attacked with a nerve agent in Salisbury with officials believing it is "highly likely" Moscow was behind it. British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Monday that it was "highly likely" that Russian Federation was behind the attack and promised "extensive measures" against the country if an explanation was not provided. Last week Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the Commons foreign affairs committee, said British ministers should urge allies to join a co-ordinated boycott of the World Cup as part of a wider package of reprisals against the Putin regime.

Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has called on England to boycott this summer's World Cup if Federation Internationale de Football Association do not withdraw it from Russia.

Pulling England out of the World Cup is unlikely to find favour with Federation Internationale de Football Association or the majority of fans, however, while it is hard to see how other nations who have qualified would follow suit in support.

"We have repeatedly warned that before the start of the Russia World Cup the Western press will launch an all-out media campaign with the intention of discrediting Russia and undermining trust in the country, as the host nation of the tournament", read the statement, which included a mock "Fake News" stamp atop cuttings of the articles.

Intermediate student in Hyderabad stabbed to death on his way to exams
According to the report in a leading daily, the attackers have been identified while one of them was nabbed by the traffic police. Kukatpally police registered a case of murder and have begun a probe to nab three other suspects who are now absconding.

"We want to emphasize once more: Further provocative false stories that stir up anti-Russian hysteria will only complicate the relationship between our countries and bring a blow to world sport".

"As we expected, the English are especially active in this, they can not forgive Russian Federation for winning the rights to host the 2018 World Cup instead of them, which was a fair decision after a fair election. Now the British media are actively calling for a boycott of the upcoming World Cup".

The vice-president of the Russian Football Union, Nikita Simonyan, also commented on the matter, saying that the poisoning incident should not affect the hosting of the World Cup in Russia.

Mr Reichelt also called on German firms such as Mercedes-Benz and Adidas - which had links to the Nazis during the Second World War - to consider their sponsorship commitments at the World Cup.
