Karachi to host West Indies T20I series in April, confirms Sethi

West Indies are set to become the latest worldwide team to tour Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi announced on Sunday that the West Indies cricket authorities have confirmed three T20Is in Pakistan, scheduled to be played in Karachi.

Not only will this be the first Full Member series Pakistan have hosted since Zimbabwe visited the country in May 2015, but it is also the first time that an global match will be held in Karachi since Sri Lanka visited Pakistan in 2009.

Pakistan has played virtually all its home series in the United Arab Emirates since then. "The reason was that I was in discussion and was working with West Indies Cricket Board day and night and come to a conclusion", he said.

Siale Angilau Shot In Courtroom After Attacking Witness
He was the last defendant in the case to stand trial, with previous defendants being sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison. Faces of nearly all the people present inside the courtroom at the time, including the judge is blurred in the video.

The matches will be played on April 1, 2 and 4 at the newly renovated National Stadium, which will also host Pakistan's Super League final on March 25. There has been a slow trickle of worldwide teams returning to Pakistan since 2015, with Zimbabwe, a World XI, and most recently Sri Lanka making short visits for limited-overs games, but all of them were confined to the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore.

The tour which was set to take place in November previous year was initially postponed to late March due to "unforeseen circumstances" and has now been postponed further by a couple of days. That is how we intend to put Karachi back on the cricket map once again. "Karachi people should welcome this".

Talking about the matches that are going to be played in Karachi, he said, "PSL final and three West Indies matches will be held in Karachi". This will be a one-off series, since, as I told you before, it will be a loss-making enterprise. PCB was in efforts to bring cricket back to Karachi.
