Kathy Bates Returning for 'American Horror Story' Season 8

Series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson will return to star in American Horror Story season eight.

Bates appeared in the American Horror Story seasons Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, and Roanoke.

The Oscar-winning actress was absent last season while launching her since-canceled Netflix series 'Disjointed'.

"Kathy and Sarah Paulson have a lot of great stuff to get to do", Murphy told the mag.

The lack-luster Roanoke and last season's Cult, which seemed like a mashup of reality and The Purge, fell short of viewers expectations.

Senators warn Trump administration isn't doing enough to prepare for 2018 elections
The proposals, in large part, echo those made by cybersecurity experts and address concerns raised by state and local officials. Homeland security officials revealed previous year that Russian hackers tried to breach election systems in 21 states in 2016.

Murphy also talked about the rumours surrounding the title of the season eight that speculated that it will titled "Radioactive" "I heard about that rumour". It's an interesting idea. "I can neither confirm nor deny", he said.

Now, what American Horror Story needs to do is go back to its roots and tell a simple story that is about a few characters and some of the bad things that happen around them.

As is often the case, plot details and the like are going to be kept under tight lock and key until much closer to the premiere of season 8, which won't be until later this year.

Check back often for new American Horror story casting news, and let us know who you would like to see join the AHS cast! I think people will like it. No other hints have been dropped, so here's to hoping it will be a completely different take, though we know there is a crossover through all the seasons. Rumors began to run wild about the new season being titled Radioactive after it was revealed that FX had seemingly trademarked the name.

Based on Murphy's tease, it sounds like Bates' Season 8 role will likely be her meatiest part since Coven, if not ever.
