Fayemi: I'm out to rescue Ekiti from current misrule

Olujimi Declares Intention To Run In Ekiti Governorship Race

He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should expect another transparent, free and fair election like the one it conducted and won by its then candidate, Governor Fayose.

"They have the white paper".

"They said the June 21, 2014 governorship poll was free, fair and credible, so that of July 14, 2018 too will be free, fair and transparent", Mr. Fayemi said.

Enough of assault, enough of insult, enough of bad governance.

"Under my government, I increased the salary of workers from N5,000 to N7,000 and from N7,000 to N13,000 and later N19,300".

Also addressing party leaders and supporters, Fayemi said the APC would work tirelessly to dethrone the PDP in the state. "We are running on our record of an unforgettable four - year administration and on the record of our President who has done well for Nigeria", he said.

The Minister became the number 37 aspirant that has declared interest for the seat in APC.

"That is why it is important for us to reclaim our land and restore our values".

Publicity Secretary of ADP, Eniola Eponlolaye, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, said: "It has been reported by members of our party that some agents of the ruling party in the state have started attacking and intimidating people suspected to be members of other political parties at the on-going voter's registration centres, thereby depriving members of the public from participating in the registration exercise". "Actually we are contesting against the governor".

"It is time to put a stop to that; it is not about title, it is about sacrifice and whatever it will take us to free Ekiti from these criminal and rapacious brigands, we will do it". If I decide today, if his wife is from Ekiti and she is in this race with me, President Buhari will still be fair to all of us. We will never hesitate to leave the comfort of Abuja. It is a message to the people, my people of Ekiti State that the time has come.

"There is much that we have to fix and redress in Ekiti before we can go forward".

"They have been saying we want to use federal might; whether it is bottom power, middle level or top power, all I know is power belongs to God and he gives it to whomever he gives". "That is why they are jittery".

"My track-record speaks for itself", she said. I saw their pain and pangs of not knowing where the next meal will come from. "We will ensure that he will end up in jail".

The ex-governor explained that he took a N25 billion bond from the Capital Market in December 2011 with which he executed capital projects adding that he had repaid N14.5 billion at the time he left office in October 2014.

Apart from this, he said workers were sponsored to local and overseas seminars, teachers got Core Subjects Allowance, Rural Teachers Allowance and no worker was sacked. Let us desist from hate speech because all aspirants are promoting our party.

Some prominent names to which the letters were addressed include, National Chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun, National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande. "If we do this, we will be damaging the brand the APC is known for", he said.
