New patch removes Hanzo's "Scatter Arrow" ability, among other changes

Overwatch's latest map'Rialto, an escort map based in Venice is now playable on the PTR

After acknowledging "that wasn't supposed to happen", Blizzard's David Adams says that "We have some changes that we are still working on and testing for the map so what you are seeing here may not be final".

The Rialto, Venice is the location of Overwatch's latest map and after a slight delay, it is now available on the Public Test Realm for PC players to trial.

Hanzo's Scatter Arrow ability, the bane of anyone trapped in a small room with him, is now gone. It's been replaced by Storm Arrows, which allows him to "rapidly fire up to six arrows that deal reduced damage but are always fired at full power". His other minor change is the ability to make Hanzo leap horizontally by pressing jump while in the air. Finally, his base projectile speed has been increased, which should turn Hanzo from a niche pick and community in-joke to a hero actually worth playing in the future.

While Hanzo's changes are by far the most extensive, he's not the only character with some balance tweaks in this update.

Dev Notes: This change is just part of the overall changes to wall riding. He can also go around corners using it without leaving the wall, and it's possible to jump away from a wall and then return to it. With the cone being reduced the ability is more accurate to its visual representation.

Moving on, Junkrat's projectile size has been decreased from 0.3 to 0.2, and his tire movement speed has been decreased by 1.

There's one last feature on this PTR as well, albeit one that isn't officially available yet.

A new patch was released on the PTR today, and some popular heroes are on the receiving end of some serious changes. There has been no word on when the Rialto map will make its way into the normal map pool.
