According to the Dallas News, Sidney Bouvier Gilstrap-Portley, 25, claimed to be a 17-year-old Hurricane Harvey survivor and was enrolled this school year at Skyline High School as a senior.

Sidney Gilstrap Portley was enrolled in two Dallas high schools for nearly nine months, claiming to be a Hurricane Harvey refugee.

It was at Hillcrest that he joined the basketball team and began dating a 14-year-old girl at the school. He was even named district's offensive player of the year.

"This school year our district welcomed evacuees displaced by Hurricane Harvey".

NASA's MarCO-B CubeSat Captures Earth-Moon Image
NASA has always been able to check out Mars on the ground with rovers and landers and from far above with orbital spacecraft. Earlier this week, they also proved the concept of small robotic satellites might be a game changer.

Gilstrap-Portley, who apparently had a moderately successful stint as a guard for Dallas Christian College's basketball team from 2013-2014, got his wish when he landed a starting role on Hillcrest's team.

Gilstrap-Portley graduated from North Mesquite High School in 2011, a source told WFAA.

Dallas ISD superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa told NBC DFW the district will "follow better protocols to try and prevent this from happening". "He was fairly savvy to be able to utilize that type of position, knowing that we were accepting Harvey students". The woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said her 14-year-old knew the man as Rashun Richardson and thought he was 17. The source said Gilstrap-Portley was discovered as an imposter when his former coach saw him playing for Hillcrest. Randal admits that "he was a good kid. That's why I was shocked when I heard that all this came out because that's not the kid that I knew".

The report noted Gilstrap-Portley bonded out of Dallas County Jail after his Friday arrest.
