Las Vegas massacre: Housekeeper describes interaction with gunman

Las Vegas police release eyewitness accounts of mass shooting

Their recollections combine to offer new glimpses of the horror that unfolded during the massacre, which left 58 people dead and more than 850 injured.

A jailed man who gave a statement in November to police and the FBI recalled a man he believed to be Paddock telling him that Federal Emergency Management Agency "camps" set up after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 were "a dry run for law enforcement and military to start kickin' down doors and. confiscating guns".

"I was with my best friend. and I held her hand and we were holding hands with other people that we don't even know", one survivor, who said she got shot in her arm, later told police.

Authorities said Haig's fingerprints were found on unused armor-piercing cartridges found inside the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock opened fire on a crowd October 1.

"Sometimes sacrifices have to be made".

In a handwritten account, a woman said she overheard a man she later said was Paddock talking with another man at a Las Vegas restaurant just three days before the massacre. Paddock was with another man, the witness said, and they were talking about the 1993 standoff in Waco, Texas.

The host said there was one incident years ago in which Paddock yelled at him over late luggage, something the host thought peculiar.

The documents released Wednesday also include statements from Mandalay Bay employees who encountered Paddock.

South Africa recalls ambassador to Israel after killing of protesters
Ngombane, who has been serving in Israel since 2013, is now the dean of the African Diplomatic Group, which includes 16 countries.

One woman told police she refused to leave her lifeless friend, whose eyes were still and lips turned blue, until a group of men picked her off the ground and guided her to a fence.

"I told them to get in however they could", he said. Another man eventually put a red bandana over the victim's face. Then, hearing a moment of quiet, she decided to make a run for it.

"He keep on staring at me", the housekeeper said, reporting that Paddock was on his computer at the time but that she did not see the screen. He also specifically apologized for the release of documents he claimed would "further traumatize a wounded community".

Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts hosts said Paddock was quiet and introverted and only spoke about non-revealing things, such as traveling and gambling.

Sgt. Jeff Clark, a department spokesman, said there would be no comment about the documents released Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the Nevada Supreme Court ordered the department to release body body camera footage taken by two officers who entered the 32nd floor hotel suite where shooter Stephen Paddock opened fire on a country music festival below before killing himself.

The terror: One man said he took cover to the right of the stage once he heard gunshots. Media outlets, including The Washington Post, sought 911 calls, video recordings, affidavits and interview reports; the Las Vegas police tried to delay the release, citing the ongoing investigation. The department has not provided all the materials it collected.
