Microsoft Bing Search announces expanded intelligent answer coverage & more

Bing following Google and Facebook

Microsoft said Bing Ads will implement this change globally in June, with enforcement rolling out in late June to early July.

Bing Search Engine has banned crypto Ads according to the company's Advertiser Policy Manager Melissa Alsoszatai.

Building on the Facebook ban, Google also moved to ban crypto-related advertising as well as ads for both unregulated and speculative financial products including binary options, foreign exchange markets, and contracts for difference (CFDs).

The lavishly picturesque search engine has now banned advertisements showing cryptocurrencies and related products from its Bing search engine.

The announcement came by way of a short post on the Bing Ads blog.

Cryptocurrency advertising has undoubtedly seen better days than those in the first quarter of 2018. "We are always evaluating our policies to ensure a safe and engaging experience for our Bing users and the digital advertising ecosystem".

Whilst some have found (temporary) ways around the ad bans on other platforms, it does add to the growing feeling that some kind of cryptocurrency regulation is needed.

After the Google decision, Facebook followed suit announcing that ads should not promote financial products and services which are associated with deceptive or misleading promotional behaviors like binary options, ICOs, and cryptocurrency.

Now, a few months later, Bing hops on the crypto-ad ban train and does the same thing. We already saw quite a lot of companies finding easy ways to circumvent Facebook's ban. Just last week, Facebook announced a new Blockchain department with rumours of the company launching their own Cryptocurrency. These include Ponzi schemes, otherwise known as pyramid schemes.

Microsoft banned cryptocurrency advertisements because they increase the risk of scams.
