Mike Budenholzer to be named new head coach of Milwaukee Bucks

REPORT: Bucks hire former Atlanta head coach Mike Budenholzer as new head coach

Mike Budenholzer has agreed to become head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news of Budenholzer accepting the Bucks job.

The report comes just hours after it was reported that Budenholzer met with Bucks star Giannis Antetokoumpo earlier in the day.

This is a developing story.

Those are arguably the two most important players on Milwaukee's roster, so it's clear the team wants to ensure its next coach and its best players will be on the same page. While moving on from a coaching job is never easy, it did not take long for Budenholzer to find a new home. In his fifth season, the Greek Freak has developed into a two-way monster and one of the top 10 players in the National Basketball Association.

Budenholzer would take over for interim coach Joe Prunty, who took the reins when Jason Kidd was sacked in January.

Nadal back to dominant best in Rome
But in his Italian Open second round match today, the 31-year-old showed no nerves as he swept to a 5-0 lead in the first set. On Halep's first match point, the 21st-ranked Osaka didn't even make a move for Halep's return of her second serve.

Prior to taking the leap into head coaching with Atlanta, Budenholzer had been a long-time member of Gregg Popovoch's staff in San Antonio. Guard Khris Middleton was also reportedly at that breakfast. Milwaukee will need to upgrade their front-court this offseason, but there is plenty of talent for Budenholzer to work with.

During Budenholzer's tenure, the Hawks made the playoffs four times, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2015.

The hiring of a head coach was undoubtedly the biggest decision of the summer for the Bucks, but now the hard work must begin for Budenholzer and co.

Expect to see the Bucks end up looking very good for their decision to hire Budenholzer.

The Milwaukee Bucks have found their man.
