Samsung halts the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 lineup once again

Samsung Galaxy J6 with Infinity Display to launch on May 21, sale from May 22

As you can see in the image above, the Galaxy J6 retail box shows the smartphone will carry a maximum retail price of Rs.14,990, while the Galaxy A6+ will have an MRP of Rs.28,000. The Galaxy J line-up is Samsung's most potent line-up in India, with the company going on to claim that there are as many as 60 million active Galaxy J phone users here.

Earlier specifications of the Galaxy J6 were leaked online by SamMobile along with specifications of another smartphone called Galaxy J4. One thing to keep in mind is that smartphones are sold at a slightly lower price than the MRP printed on the retail packaging, so the marketing operating price (MOP) of both the Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6+ should be quite a bit lower. According to reports, the company has started to mail media invites for the launch event of the Galaxy J6. The main attraction of Galaxy J6 (2018) is the integration of Infinity Display coupled with thin bezels and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Although hardware specs of the Galaxy J6 are scarce as of now, rumour has it that the phone will come with a 5.6-inch 720p+ AMOLED display and an Exynos processor inside. That's $220, give or take, but alas, we don't know what configuration we're looking at here. Despite running the modern Android 8.0 Oreo OS, this thing packs a pretty awful 2GB RAM and an outdated Exynos 7870 processor, which probably means the so-called J7 Aero won't be similar to the India-exclusive J7 Duo after all. Galaxy J6 will have a 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM options, along with 32GB and 64GB storage, which will be expandable.
