Toss could go for 'a toss' from Test cricket

CoA chief Vinod Rai backs India's decision to not play day-night Test

CA CEO James Sutherland too had tried to convince the BCCI to play the Day-Night Test besides saying that the home team should have the right to schedule matches "as it sees fit".

According to ESPNCricinfo, the ICC's cricket committee will debate removing the toss when it meets in Mumbai at the end of May.

As things stand, the home team captain flips the coin and the visiting captain calls heads or tails.

Cricinfo quote the document as stating: "There is serious concern about the current level of home team interference in Test pitch preparation, and more than one committee member believes that the toss should be automatically awarded to the visiting team in each match, although there are some others on the committee who do not share that view". The tradition of the toss in Cricket is so famous that kids and children who play a game of cricket in any part of the world try to imitate tossing a coin and deciding who will bat or bowl first.

Trailer for 'Destination Wedding,' shot in SLO County, released
Watch the first trailer for Destination Wedding below. "They're in a fool's paradise", Reeves' character is overheard saying. Destination Wedding is like a middle finger to those who thought Reeves and Ryder's careers, and the rom-com, were dead.

The panel, which operates in an advisory capacity and can only make recommendations to the ICC chief executives' committee, is due to consider whether the option to bat or bowl first should be given to the visiting captain to encourage fairer pitches.

The ICC is mulling over doing away with the tradition of toss in Test matches to take away the advantage home teams exercise by preparing extreme wickets that suit their strength thereby leaving visiting teams not even in a position to put up a respectable fight that makes matches a boring prospect for viewers and spectators alike. "The concerned authorities must look at what Ricky Ponting suggested - no more tosses", Holding wrote for Wisden India in 2015.

"Day-night Test cricket in some countries is going to be one of those ingredients that could transform Test cricket back to where it should be". India batting on the first day and there were 1000 people.

The English experiment in 2016 resulted in changes.
