Playing Fortnite too often has reportedly gone too far for one player with reports emerging that a nine-year-old girl has entered rehab due to her gaming addiction. This was reportedly before she chose to wet herself instead of going to the bathroom.

And now teachers are saying that pupils younger than Fortnite'sage rating of 12 years old are becoming obsessed with the game and it's having an impact on their concentration in school.

The primary school student downloaded survival shooter game Fortnite, which is played by more than 40m people worldwide, when her parents bought her an Xbox in January.

The woman said that she and her husband made a decision to seek help when they've discovered Carol sitting on a urine-soaked cushion.

Naturally, her parents responded by limiting the time she spent playing the free game to one hour on weekdays and two on weekends, but things got worse ⏤ the girl started showing signs of addiction. "She had fallen asleep twice in lessons, and her grades were slipping", Carol said. "She is in therapy for the addiction after she became withdrawn, agitated and disturbed from playing up to ten hours a day-sometimes playing until dawn, wetting herself so she didn't have to leave the screen", Carol said. "We got called in by her head teacher asking if everything was OK".

'Of course we were furious and confiscated her Xbox, but then she lashed out and hit my husband in the face.'
These alone aren't enough to signify a Fortnite addiction as many gamers go through some version of his, but other symptoms such as neglecting her own basic needs and lashing out at her father were also mentioned by Mirror in the following list.

But experts fear many children are at risk of developing mental health problems as a result of over-exposure to violent and addictive video games.

In a last ditch attempt to help their daughter, her parents contacted an addictions counsellor who agreed to provide psychotherapy sessions.

Battle Royale starts with 100 players who all jump from a plane onto a small island where they fight to the death until only one player is victorious.

Recent cases highlighted the game's "addictive nature" and "the extent to which it quickly impacts behaviour", he added.

"I urge every parent out there to know what this game can do, how it sucks young children in and could ruin lives", the girl's mother said.
