Prosecutors in Colorado have charged a 29-year-old Federal Bureau of Investigation agent with second-degree assault this week with possible additional counts to be added later following an incident at a Denver nightclub earlier this month.
Video from the June 3 incident shows Bishop landing a backflip at the Mile High Spirits bar, and reaching down to pick up the weapon that had fallen from his trousers.
Chase Bishop has been charged with second-degree assault and is in custody in Denver.
Denver police have said Bishop was dancing at a nightclub in the early hours of June 2 when the gun fell from his waistband holster and hit the floor.
The bullet Bishop fired ended up striking the leg of 24-year-old Tom Reddington, a fellow patron of Mile High Spirits who was seated at a picnic table nearby.
Additional charges could also be filed after an analysis of Bishop's blood alcohol content are finished, the DA said.

"If an additional charge needs to be filed after further evidence is received, we can file those charges then", McCann said.
Bishop is not assigned to the Denver office but works out of Washington, sources told KUSA.
Reddington, who is now recovering at home from his gunshot wound, told Good Morning America that he had watched the footage a number of times and was still confused by how it managed to occur. I'm still thinking it's a firework. "And that's when it clicked in my head, 'Oh, I've been shot'".
The FBI agent who allegedly accidentally shot a man while dancing in a Colorado bar has reportedly been charged.
Legal experts have said Reddington might be able to sue Bishop if he is proved to have been negligent.
Bishop made worldwide news earlier this month when a video of the shooting became public. "The whole team at Mile High Spirits is praying for the victim's quick recovery, and he's welcome at Mile High Spirits to enjoy complimentary drinks forever".
