AMC Theatres unveils $20-a-month subscription to rival to MoviePass

That response arrives June 26, in the form of AMC Stubs A-List, an add-on to the company's loyalty program.

Many of these perks - like advance tickets, seeing non-2D movies, and seeing the same movie again - are restricted by MoviePass. The service, which will cost $19.95 per month, gets you access to the very best of AMC up to 3 times per week, including multiple movies per day and repeat visits to already-seen movies. This will be offered through their AMC Stubs program. AMC Stubs A-List, to launch June 26, will allow members to view available movies at any USA -based AMC location, and in any format, including Imax, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Prime and BigD. Even though it limits users to three movies a week (no rollover), there's no calendar day restriction, and they can see the same movie a couple of times, which MoviePass users can't.

AMC denounced MoviePass in 2017 after its unprecedented $9.95/month unlimited subscription, which allows users to see up to one movie per calendar day.

This is a biggie. Will you make the switch from MoviePass to Stubs A-List?

"Thanks for making us look good AMC!", the MoviePass tweet read. "AMC Stubs A-List is AMC's next evolution of delivering wonderful benefits to our loyal customers, and we're excited to continue to grow the program by leaps and bounds". It will now join other membership offers that can allow a visitor to earn discounts on concession items, as well as rewards points.
